The shelf 12 bags · 18 airlines

Every bag here has met the tape measure.

Pick an airline and a slot and the shelf thins itself to what fits. The stamp on each card counts the carriers whose frame the bag clears — largest side against largest side, so nothing slips through on a diagonal.

Slot

No bag on this shelf clears that frame. Try the other slot — a locker bag usually cannot travel under a seat, but an under-seat bag almost always clears a locker.

Sides are compared largest to largest.

A 45 × 36 × 20 bag against a 40 × 30 × 20 frame fails on two sides, however you turn it. The maths behind every stamp is that simple, and it is the same maths the sizer at the gate performs.
